Dosign Academy is a training institute for technical professionals. We provide technical programmes and training courses for people who work in, or want to work in, sectors such as the process industry, mechanical engineering, energy, offshore and industrial automation.
Our programmes are practical and closely aligned with the day to day reality of engineers, work planners, project leaders and technical specialists.
Our programmes are designed for technical professionals working at MBO+, HBO or university level. This includes engineers, CAD draughtspeople, work planners, project leaders, maintenance professionals, operators who want to progress, and technical staff who want to deepen or broaden their expertise within their field.
Dosign Academy offers programmes and training courses in areas such as Piping Design & Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Industrial Automation, Construction Management, ATEX, PED/WBDA, materials engineering, AutoCAD, SIL, P&IDs, isometric drawings, Pipestress, pneumatics and technical project management.
Dosign Academy has its roots in engineering practice. Our lecturers are not generalist trainers, but industry professionals with direct experience in the field. That means our programmes are not limited to theory. They focus above all on how engineering works in real projects, installations, teams and industrial environments.
Yes. All Dosign Academy programmes are specifically developed for working professionals. Classes often take place in the evening or in half day sessions, depending on the programme.
This allows participants to combine their work with further professional development.
Yes. The programmes are built around engineering situations that participants recognise from their own work. Examples include P&IDs, isometric drawings, project documentation, standards, calculations, design decisions, safety considerations and communication between disciplines.
Participants learn not only what something means, but also how to apply it in practice.
The start date varies by programme and location. Many programmes that run over several years start around the beginning of the new academic year.
Short training courses are scheduled several times a year or organised for companies on request.
You can enrol through the Dosign Academy website or contact us for advice. For some programmes, it is advisable to first discuss whether your prior knowledge and work experience are a good match for the level of the programme.
Yes. Many participants follow a programme through their employer. Companies often invest in technical development because employees gain knowledge they can apply directly in their role, project or team.
The cost varies by programme or training course. Short training courses usually have a different pricing structure from programmes that run over several years or tailored company programmes.
The current price is listed on the programme page or included in a quotation.
Engineering work is not only about calculations, drawings and systems. Engineers and project team members also need to coordinate with others, present their ideas, consult with stakeholders, set boundaries, define priorities and support decisions with clear reasoning.
Good communication helps prevent errors, delays and misunderstandings in projects.
Yes. Dosign Academy also offers training courses in personal effectiveness and communication, always within a technical context. This includes effective communication, presenting, negotiation, time management, leadership and technical project management. The situations used in these courses are drawn from technical teams, technical projects and client conversations.
Construction Management in the process industry focuses on preparing, directing and controlling construction activities within industrial projects. Topics include planning, safety, quality, collaboration, execution, documentation and communication between disciplines.
Industrial Automation focuses on designing, understanding and applying control systems within industrial installations. The programme covers topics including PLCs, SCADA, DCS, industrial networks, electrical engineering, safety, process control and automation concepts.
Instrumentation Engineering focuses on instrumentation and control within industrial processes. Participants learn how instrumentation systems are designed, specified and applied in the process industry. Topics include pressure, flow, level, temperature, control loops, datasheets, P&IDs and technical documentation.
Piping Design & Engineering is a programme for professionals who want to develop their skills in designing, assessing and detailing piping systems within industrial installations. The programme covers topics including project documentation, drawings, standards, materials, valves, fittings, supports, pipe stress and practical design decisions.
Yes. You can contact Dosign Academy for programme advice. We will look at your current role, technical experience, prior knowledge and goals. This helps prevent you from choosing a programme that is too basic, too advanced or not sufficiently relevant to your work.
Dosign Academy offers programmes and training courses in both Dutch and English. The language depends on the programme, location and group.
For international groups or companies, a training course can also be delivered entirely in English.
Yes. For companies, we can tailor training courses to the organisation’s own practice. This may include project situations, technical documents, internal working methods, safety considerations or specific learning objectives.
Small adjustments are often possible within an existing programme. More extensive changes are developed as bespoke training.
That depends on your technical background, work experience, current role and development goals. Someone who wants to move into engineering will need a different programme from someone who wants to deepen their expertise in ATEX, project management or automation.
Dosign Academy can help you determine the best route.
Many programmes take place at Dosign Academy locations in Rotterdam, Antwerp, Bergen op Zoom or Limburg. Training courses are also delivered at company locations.
Some programmes or programme components can be offered online or in a hybrid format, depending on the programme, the group and what is practically feasible.
That depends on the programme or training course. For short training courses, participants usually receive a certificate of participation.
For programmes that run over several years, or for more extensive training pathways, completion may involve exams, assignments, theses or final assessments.
The exact completion requirements are listed on the relevant programme page.
Yes. Dosign Academy’s lecturers come from technical practice. They work, or have worked, as engineers, specialists, project leaders, consultants or technical experts. This allows them to connect theory directly to practical examples, project documentation and realistic decisions from industry practice.
Yes. Experienced professionals often follow advanced training courses at Dosign Academy to update, broaden or apply their knowledge more effectively within projects.
Examples include training courses in ATEX, SIL, PED/WBDA, pipe stress analysis, technical project management and construction management.
Yes. Early career technical professionals can build technical fundamentals at Dosign Academy and learn how technical work is carried out in practice. Some programmes are suitable for junior engineers, while other training courses are designed for professionals who already have more experience.
Does Dosign Academy offer programmes for technical professionals?
Yes. Many of Dosign Academy’s programmes are specifically developed for engineers or professionals who want to move into an engineering role.
Examples include Piping Design & Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Industrial Automation and various advanced technical modules.
Yes. Companies can enrol employees in open programmes or request a tailored company training pathway.
We help determine the right level, learning objectives, planning and the most suitable programme or training course. In doing so, we look not only at the employee’s role, but also at the technical context in which they work.
In an open programme, you learn alongside participants from different companies. This is valuable because you gain insight into a range of working situations and technical environments.
An in-company training course is organised for one organisation and can be more closely aligned with internal projects, processes and learning objectives.
Yes. Dosign Academy also provides company training courses for organisations. We align the content with the organisation’s technical practice.
This may involve an existing training course, an adapted version or a fully bespoke training pathway.
Yes. Dosign Academy helps companies develop technical talent, from early career professionals to experienced specialists.
This can be done through open programmes, internal development programmes, bespoke training pathways or combinations of technical and soft skills training.
That depends on the programme. Some training courses are accessible to participants without an extensive technical background, while other programmes require basic technical knowledge.
If you are unsure, it is advisable to ask for advice in advance, so that you start at the right level.
A programme at Dosign Academy gives you practical technical knowledge that you can apply directly in your work.
It also helps you contribute more effectively within projects, better understand technical decisions and work more professionally with other disciplines.
