Lesson programme

In modern industry, everything revolves around efficiency, from production to energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Instrumentation and control plays a crucial role in this. During the Instrumentation Engineering programme, you learn how to use the right instruments and techniques to measure, monitor and improve processes.

You learn about pressure, level, temperature and flow measurement, control engineering, electrical engineering and process safety. You also develop your understanding of interfaces with other technical disciplines and safety standards such as ATEX.

During this Instrumentation Engineering programme, the following topics are covered:

  • Pressure, level, temperature and flow measurement

  • Control valves, shut off valves and solenoid valves

  • Electrical engineering and control engineering

  • Safety and ATEX standards

  • Industrial automation systems and networks

  • HAZOP analysis and process safety

After completing the programme, you will have the knowledge and skills to design, implement and manage process oriented instrumentation and control systems. You will learn how to select the right instruments and understand how different disciplines within industry are connected.

Practical Information

The programme runs for two years:

The first year consists of 20 theory lessons and 4 practical lessons.

The second year consists of 13 lessons.

Every two weeks, you attend an evening lesson of 4 hours. Half of the lessons take place online and the other half take place at Dosign Academy in Rotterdam. This means you only need to travel to Rotterdam once a month. Lessons run from 17:30 to 22:00.

The total programme fee is €3,685 excluding VAT per year. In addition to the lessons, the fee includes study materials, practice exams, exams, certificates and the diploma. Exam resits are possible at €200 excluding VAT.

Upon completion of the programme, you receive a diploma.

The language of instruction for this programme is English. The programme is delivered by Dutch lecturers, so any questions or points of uncertainty can also be discussed in Dutch if needed. All materials, including books, exams and assignments, are available in both Dutch and English, allowing the participant to choose the preferred version.

Fee: €3,685 excluding VAT per year

Duration: 37 evenings

Signal Processing & Fourier Analysis: From raw measurement data to reliable technical decisions

Technische modules 11 dagdelen Rotterdam

Van ruwe meetdata naar betrouwbare technische inzichten In moderne technische systemen is meetdata overal. Sensoren meten continu trillingen, druk, temperatuur, stroming en elektrische signalen. In de praktijk blijkt die data zelden schoon. Ruis, verstoringen en instabiel gedrag maken het lastig om te bepalen wat een systeem écht doet. Signal processing is het vakgebied waarmee engineers dit probleem oplossen.
