he Basic Knowledge of Functional Safety, SIL, training course focuses on the fundamentals of functional safety within industrial systems. You are introduced to the concepts behind standards such as IEC 61508 and IEC 61511, learn what a Safety Integrity Level, SIL, is and how this level is determined within safety systems. This SIL training course gives you a solid foundation before moving on to further specialisation in risk assessment, safety functions or safety lifecycle management.
After completing the training course, you will understand:
After this SIL training course, you will be able to recognise, apply and use functional safety and SIL concepts as a basis for further development in design, technical practice or risk management.

Docent Instrumentatie Engineering
Functional safety and SIL concepts are crucial for designing, assessing and managing safe systems. Dosign Academy combines current knowledge of standards with practical application, so that you learn how to use functional safety in your daily practice, from design through to operation.
Personal advice and guidance
Every sector and role requires a different approach. That is why we align the training course with your background, so that the knowledge can be applied within your own field of work and processes.
Experienced lecturers from the field
Our trainers have extensive experience with functional safety, SIL analyses and industrial standards. They connect theory to practical cases, so that you learn what really matters in technical practice and risk management.
Practical SIL training
The emphasis is on applicability. You learn not only terms and definitions, but above all how functional safety and SIL concepts are applied within systems, projects and risk analyses.
Functional safety focuses on managing risks in systems with potentially critical consequences. Assigning the right Safety Integrity Level, SIL, to a safety function helps quantify the reliability of that function and effectively mitigate risks. With SIL training, you develop insight into how SIL levels are established, why they matter and how to apply them responsibly within your organisation.
Do you want to build a solid foundation in functional safety and learn how SIL levels are applied within safe systems? Follow the Basic Knowledge of Functional Safety, SIL, training course at Dosign Academy and develop knowledge that can be applied directly in your daily practice. Increase your expertise, improve your risk management and work with confidence on safe, reliable installations.
