Technical Report Writing

Course programme

During this Technical Report Writing course, you will learn to approach reporting as a deliberate communication tool. You will learn how to structure technical information around the core of your message, aligned with the needs of your reader. The result is a document that is clearer, more consistent and directly applicable in practice.

  • Apply the inverted pyramid: start with what is most important
  • Structure reports logically with a title, summary, introduction, main body and conclusion
  • Use writing frameworks to maintain structure and coherence
  • Write actively and avoid unnecessary auxiliary constructions

DISC for Technical Professionals; recognising and influencing behaviour in practice

Personal Effectiveness Training Courses 2 half-day sessions Rotterdam

In technical projects, a great deal of attention is paid to content, planning and execution. Yet in practice, projects do not always get stuck because of technical issues. Behaviour often plays a greater role than expected. Differences in pace, communication style and response patterns can cause conversations to become difficult, expectations to remain unspoken and decisions to be delayed or avoided. DISC makes this behaviour visible.

In this training course, we do not approach DISC as a model you need to memorise, but as a practical tool for understanding collaboration more effectively. You work with your own DISC profile and gain insight into how you communicate, respond and make decisions, especially in situations where pressure increases or interests differ. From that insight, you learn to recognise behaviour in others. You learn to pick up signals during conversations and better understand why someone responds in a certain way.

As a result, you will recognise more quickly where communication breaks down and what is needed to steer the conversation back in the right direction.

The benefits

Why choose Dosign Academy?

Many writing courses remain focused on general language rules. Our reporting course has been developed specifically for the technical sector, where complex information must be communicated quickly, clearly and accurately to different stakeholders.

Focus on technical practice

We look beyond grammar and spelling. You learn to write purposefully for management and clients, while continuously applying the theory directly to practical writing assignments from your own professional field.

Specialist trainer

The training course is delivered by Harmen Breedeveld, a specialist in written communication. With extensive experience in structuring complex, specialist texts, including in medical and technical contexts, he is able to translate theory effectively into practical application for engineers.

Directly applicable frameworks

You learn to work with fixed writing frameworks for reports, while also discovering how to use other documents, such as minutes and project proposals, more effectively. After the training, you will know exactly which type of document to use in which situation.

The importance of clear technical reporting

When technical information is unclear or poorly structured on paper, it quickly leads to misinterpretation, errors and project delays in practice. Even technically strong advice loses its value if management or the client cannot immediately understand the key message.

By investing in a Technical Report Writing training course, you ensure that your expertise is communicated clearly and leads to action. You will learn to write more concisely, formulate more actively and save valuable time for both yourself during the writing process and your reader.

Would you like to present your technical recommendations and reports with greater clarity, structure and impact? Register for Dosign Academy’s Technical Report Writing training course. Turn written communication into one of your strongest professional tools and ensure that your technical expertise is always communicated clearly and accurately.
