During the Pipe Diameter Calculations & Pump Selection training course, you develop insight into the key principles behind flow and pump behaviour.

- Wall thickness calculation: application of Barlow’s formula for cylinders

- Types of flow: laminar and turbulent flow
- Determining the flow regime using the Reynolds number
- Flow behaviour and pressure changes according to Bernoulli’s law
- Relationship between dynamic and static pressure
Evening 2: Pump selection and calculations
- Pipe resistance analysis

- Velocity in suction and discharge lines
- Local resistances and resistance coefficients
- Determining pump head
- Pump installations
- Power and efficiency
- Calculation of Net Positive Suction Head, NPSH, and cavitation prevention

This training course is designed for engineers, designers and technical professionals involved in the design, engineering or maintenance of piping systems in the process industry. Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering and process installations is recommended in order to follow the content properly.

Warenwetbesluit Drukapparatuur (WBDA) en PED in de praktijk (2014/68/EU) Deze PED en WBDA training richt zich op de toepassing van de Pressure Equipment Directive (PED, 2014/68/EU) en het Warenwetbesluit Drukapparatuur binnen industriële projecten. In de praktijk draait PED zelden om theorie, maar om het correct afbakenen van scope en verplichtingen. Zeker bij brownfield modificaties, vervangingen en uitbreidingen is het onderscheid tussen wat verplicht is en wat optioneel is vaak onduidelijk. Dit leidt regelmatig tot onnodige berekeningen, te zware modulekeuzes en een grotere betrokkenheid van een Notified Body dan noodzakelijk. In deze training leer je hoe je drukapparatuur correct classificeert, de juiste PED-categorie en conformiteitsmodule bepaalt en wanneer inspecties zoals KVI daadwerkelijk vereist zijn. De nadruk ligt op het maken van de juiste technische keuzes binnen PED en WBDA in de Nederlandse praktijk, van nieuwbouw tot modificaties en beheer van bestaande installaties.
