Coaching for Technical Professionals

Coaching leadership is not a luxury within technical organisations, but an absolute necessity. Excellent engineers are increasingly growing into leadership roles. Teams are becoming larger and projects more complex. Yet technical managers are rarely trained in professionally guiding employees. With Dosign Academy’s Coaching Leadership training course, you learn how to guide colleagues in behavioural change, responsibility and independence, without taking over the substance of the problem yourself.

Who is this training course designed for?

The Coaching Leadership training course is designed for technical professionals who are strong in terms of content, but notice that guiding people is a completely different discipline from technical work. You may, for example, be growing from engineer into project leader and looking for more structure in how you guide others. You want your team, including junior engineers, to take responsibility more quickly and independently. You encounter resistance or motivation issues within your technical team. The target audience mainly consists of team leaders, for example in the process industry, project leaders in engineering, senior engineers with a mentoring role and technical specialists.

DISC for Technical Professionals; recognising and influencing behaviour in practice

Personal Effectiveness Training Courses 2 half-day sessions Rotterdam

In technical projects, a great deal of attention is paid to content, planning and execution. Yet in practice, projects do not always get stuck because of technical issues. Behaviour often plays a greater role than expected. Differences in pace, communication style and response patterns can cause conversations to become difficult, expectations to remain unspoken and decisions to be delayed or avoided. DISC makes this behaviour visible.

In this training course, we do not approach DISC as a model you need to memorise, but as a practical tool for understanding collaboration more effectively. You work with your own DISC profile and gain insight into how you communicate, respond and make decisions, especially in situations where pressure increases or interests differ. From that insight, you learn to recognise behaviour in others. You learn to pick up signals during conversations and better understand why someone responds in a certain way.

As a result, you will recognise more quickly where communication breaks down and what is needed to steer the conversation back in the right direction.

Leadership in the Technical Field

Personal Effectiveness Training Courses 6 half-day session Rotterdam

In the Leadership for Technical Professionals training course, you learn how to lead engineers, project teams and technical specialists without losing your own pragmatic style.

The benefits

Why choose Dosign Academy?

Many leadership training courses are either too soft or overly theoretical. This training course is highly practical and specifically developed for a result oriented technical working environment.
For technical professionals, by technical professionals

This training course is explicitly not intended for HR professionals or therapists. The focus is 100 percent on coaching within hard technical practice. You do not have to be an experienced coach yet, but we do teach you to critically reflect on your own convictions. After all, coaching leadership starts with self insight.
From theory to your own case material

Everything you learn is continuously translated into your own practice. You train intensively in conversation skills: listening without judgement, reflecting, structuring and confronting when needed. You work with your own case material, for example a stubborn employee or an unmotivated junior, and formulate concrete development goals for yourself as a leader.
