Course programme
This three-day training course focuses on the transition from subject-matter expert to leader. You first examine your own way of leading. Using management roles, self-assessments and practical situations, you gain insight into how you provide direction, where you take responsibility and where you may sometimes wait too long before intervening. Especially in situations involving pressure, resistance or conflicting interests, it becomes clear which style you naturally use and where further development is needed.
You then work on providing direction. You learn how to make expectations concrete, monitor agreements and communicate clearly what needs to happen. You also learn when to intervene, how to do so and how to prevent uncertainty from continuing for too long. Attention is also given to situational leadership: which approach fits the employee, the task, the team and the situation on the work floor.
An important part of the training course is conducting conversations. You practise conversations in which behaviour, performance or collaboration need to be discussed. This includes performance reviews, appraisal interviews, feedback conversations and conversations involving tension or resistance. You learn to name what you observe directly and professionally, without making the conversation unnecessarily harsh or avoiding it altogether.
Conflict management is also covered in depth. Conflicts and tensions are not treated as exceptions, but as moments in which leadership becomes visible. You work with cases in which interests clash, agreements are not kept or situations have been ongoing for some time. You learn to take a position, maintain direction and remain constructive when the other person does not immediately move with you.
The training course is practical in structure. Through role plays and recognisable work situations, you practise situations from your own technical environment. You receive direct feedback, apply your approach again and experience what does and does not work. You also learn to analyse team roles and gain insight into your own core qualities and those of your employees. This helps you develop a leadership style that fits you, your team and the technical context in which you work.

Why choose Dosign Academy?
Technicians and engineers are analytical and content-driven. A standard, highly theoretical management course from a textbook often misses the mark. You choose a course at Dosign Academy because we understand the pragmatic dynamics of the technical sector.
Personal advice and guidance
Every leadership role is different. We align the theory with your specific challenges, whether you manage a team of draftspeople or lead technicians in the field. This ensures that you get maximum value from the three training days.
Experienced trainers from industry
Our trainers have extensive experience in management and leadership within the technical B2B sector. They understand how professionals in this field think and communicate, and offer pragmatic solutions for recognisable practical situations.
Practice-based approach
Leadership is learned in practice. That is why we work extensively with interactive exercises and role plays. For example, you practise conducting difficult conversations directly, so you can translate the theory into your own team the very next day.
The importance of effective leadership in technical environments
A well-functioning technical team depends heavily on its leader. When direction is lacking, communication is difficult or objectives are unclear, you lose not only project efficiency, but potentially also valuable technical talent.
By investing in a focused leadership training course, you learn how to engage people and create a working environment in which professionals can perform well. You learn how to motivate and retain your team in order to achieve organisational goals together, without losing touch with the technical content and the work floor.
